Origin
The library was originally established on 18th October, 1930 as Devendra Library, Tikamgarh (Orchha, Bundelkhand) by Maharaja Veersingh Judev II. It became Government District Library on 25th December, 1956 after the independence of India.
Building
The library is currently operating on the first floor of the Municipal Building of Tikamgarh Municipality.
Location
The library is located in the Nagar Bhavan, in the Katra Bazaar area of Tikamgarh, Madhya Pradesh.

Working Hours
The library operates in two shifts every day, the first shift from 7:30 to 10:30 and the second shift from 5:00 to 8:00 in the evening, from Monday to Saturday. During this period any person is welcome to the library for study.
The library is remains closed on Sunday and Gazetted Holidays.
